WILKES-BARRE — The F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts and country star Kacey Musgraves are working with the Salvation Army to bring Christmas presents to children in need.

Now through Dec. 2, an Angel Tree sits inside the Kirby Center lobby and patrons can visit during regular business hours,10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and select a child’s name from the tree or donate $20.

“The program provides gifts of new clothes and toys to thousands of children who otherwise might not have anything for Christmas,” a news release from the Kirby Center said. “Children who are recipients of Angel Tree gifts are from families who have applied for Christmas assistance through the Social Services program of the Salvation Army.”

Program participants who register their gifts at the Kirby Center box office are entered to win two tickets and two meet-and-greet passes to Musgraves’ Dec. 9 performance at the theater.
