WILKES-BARRE — The men of 50 Shades will see the women of Wilkes-Barre Friday night.
Fifty Shades of Men, a male revue, is headed to the Woodlands Resort Friday, June 17.
Lenny “Luv” Panaro, tour manager and emcee, said the two-hour show, which pulls themes from the popular “50 Shades” novels, features five male dancers who are former Chippendales.
The show is heavily centered around the theme “50 Shades,” after the novel series and movie. Panaro said the decision to use the theme of “50 Shades” is due to the popularity of the series, especially among female audiences.
Panaro said while 50 Shades is the main concept, other classic male revue routines are also included.
The show includes a nod to “Magic Mike,” another popular movie about male dancers. Other routines include “Raining Men” and “Officer and a Gentleman.”
Mitch Kornfeld, manager at the Woodlands, said they book at least two male revue shows a year. He said these types of shows bring in good crowds and make for a fun event.
It’s “no different than being in Las Vegas,” Kornfeld said.
Kornfeld said the show is being advertised on different social media platforms as well as deals running on Groupon. Tickets sold through the site cost $15, half the cost of purchasing at the door.
Audience members will have a chance before and after the show to meet the dancers as well as grab autographs and pictures.
Panaro said this event stands out from the rest because of the high quality of the performances.
“It’s an upscale performance with cast members that are more personal and friendly,” Panaro said.
Kornfeld expects a good turnout for the event and that the ultimate goal is to bring business to the Woodlands.
“It’s a good night out,” Kornfeld said.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8:30 p.m. The event is 21 and older. Tickets are available at the Woodlands box office for $30 or on Groupon.
