SCRANTON — The Menzingers and Tigers Jaw headlined the 5th Annual NEPA Holiday Show on Dec. 19. This year marked the first time the event was held at the Scranton Cultural Center.
Tigers Jaw’s set included a wide range of songs from their discography, including the first song they wrote together as a band, “The Sun,” and a cover of The Cure (“In Between Days”) that appears on the band’s split with singer/songwriter Kevin Devine.”
After Tigers Jaw took their leave, The Menzingers wrapped up the NEPA Holiday Show with a set largely consisting of material from their critically-acclaimed 2012 and 2014 efforts, “On the Impossible Past” and “Rented World.” The Scranton punk band also covered The Bouncing Souls’ “Kate is Great,” a recorded version of which appears on the band’s split with the Souls, “Electric.”
Scranton natives return home for 5th annual holiday celebration, donate proceeds to local youth arts and music program Arts Alive.
