JIM THORPE — Recognized by the Talking Heads official Facebook page as a tribute worth seeing, Start Making Sense has been filling venues across the country. The acclaimed group recently rocked a sold out River Street Jazz Cafe in Wilkes-Barre, but if you missed them, you’ll have another opportunity to catch their incredible performance by taking a short drive.
SMS will play at 8 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Mauch Chunk Opera House. Tickets cost $20 and are available by visiting www.mcohjt.com or by calling 570-325-0249. Doors open at 7 p.m.
The band’s website, www.startmakingsenseband.com, features a quote by friend, Talking Heads and Parliament Funkadelic alumnus, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame keyboard player, Bernie Worrell.
“To all you listeners … this is an appropriate title — Start Making Sense. This band makes plenty of sense to me, and is a great representation of Talking Heads’ music. So listen up and go check them out.”
