WILKES-BARRE — The Riverfront Parks Committee invites the community to the sixth annual ChalkFest and Hydromania, set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Millennium Circle Portal on the River Common. Rain date is Oct. 4.
that will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the
ChalkFest gives children of all ages and abilities a chance to show off their creativity by drawing with chalk and Hydromania is a program that helps children learn about water, watersheds and the Susquehanna River. They will see how groundwater and surface water are connected within a watershed and how human activity can have both positive and negative effects on water quantity and quality in our region.
The Riverfront Parks Committee is dedicated to encouraging environmental awareness and stewardship through the development of educational programming in the parks, as well as offering the region a safe, clean, and unique natural setting for year-round recreation.
