“I love owning a car that is an oddity,” Koons said. “Part car, part truck, not really either. I’d love to have been in the meeting when they were coming up with this idea. The El Camino has a 200 cubic inch V-6 engine that only gets about 100 horsepower, so it’s not a very powerful car. It has been in my family for a while. My uncle bought it originally and used it a bit as his work car, then when he didn’t want it any more I took it over and kind of restored it, I never wanted to sink a lot of money into it, but I wanted to get it to a point where it is a good representation of automotive history.”
