Actor: Lukas Tomasacci
Character: Nick Bottom in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” put on by King’s College from April 9-12 at 7:30 p.m. and April 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12, general admission; $7, senior citizens; and $5, King’s alumni and non-King’s students.
THE WEEKENDER: Describe your character.
LUKAS TOMASACCI: He’s a weaver by trade, but he fancies himself a world-class actor. A more apt description would be a world-class over-actor. He’s a bit of an ass.
W: How are you most like your character?
LT: Well, we look a staggering amount alike. Otherwise, we’re both actors and, at times, can be more than a little larger-than-life.
W: What are some words Shakespeare used that aren’t around anymore that you wish you could bring back?
LT: Man, that’s like asking someone to pick their favorite child. Possibly daily usage of words like “hither” and “forsooth.” It’d make conversation all the more interesting.
W: If you could hang out with your character for a day, where would you take him and what would you do with him?
LT: There’s only one logical answer: we’d go to the theatre.
