Salamander Search, for ages 6 and older, starts in the Campground Amphitheater with a short introduction to salamanders. Then the group will embark on an amphibian adventure and try to catch live examples. 2 p.m. June 30, Frances Slocum State Park in Kingston Township.

Shades of Death and Sand Springs Trails, at Hickory Run State Park, part of park hiking series with naturalist. Meet at 9 a.m. July 11 at Hickory Run State Park Office, Route 534, White Haven. Length 3.5 miles. Terrain difficult. No registration required. Free. Please wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water. Well-behaved and friendly dogs on a leash are welcome.
