Things to do in Wilkes-Barre this weekend
Walking Your Way to a Healthier You. This walk is free. Learn more about the many ways that regular activity like walking can improve your physical and mental health as well as decrease your risk for a variety of conditions including cancer, diabetes and obesity on this Y Walk Wednesday event, which leaves at 6 p.m. July 26 from the lobby of the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA, corner of South Franklin and West Northampton Streets, Wilkes-Barre. Curry Donuts Show. Admission is free for this event. Six bands fill out the bill for an evening of music that will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. July 28 at Curry Donuts, 178 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Earthmouth, Bloodeagle, VOW, Lionshred, Almost Honest and DOUR will perform. Dour will release new music at the show. This is a drug and alcohol free event. Health Fair. This event is free. An all ages event featuring a healthy cooking demonstration, healthy food for purchase, doctors available for questions and more. Postpone your funeral and get your blood pressure under control. At Kirby Park, 160 Market St., Wilkes-Barre, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 30.
Garbage Day. Admission costs $5 at the door the evening of the event. A night of music featuring four bands will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. July 28 at Bart and Urby’s 119 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
