MIDDLETOWN — Players, check your tickets: a winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket worth $225,000 that was sold in Luzerne County for the May 31, 2016, drawing will soon expire.

The unclaimed ticket was sold by Nelly Travel Plaza, 3765 Nuangola Road, Nuangola. It correctly matched all five white balls drawn, 05-06-32-39-42, to win a prize of $225,000, less applicable tax withholding.

A prize claim must be filed with the Lottery by Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages claimants to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a timely claim at any of Lottery’s seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at headquarters.

By law, unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians. Although some lotteries give players only 90 or 180 days to claim a prize, Pennsylvania Lottery draw game prizes may be claimed on a business day up to one year from the drawing date.

Players should check every ticket, every time, using self-service scanners found at retailers or with the Ticket Checker on the Lottery’s official mobile app. Sign tickets immediately for proof of ownership.
