Will You Accept This Recap? Week 9: Having fun in Thailand

We took an interesting journey to get to the final two Monday night, but it ended just how we figured it would all along.

Becca now has to choose between Garrett and Blake. Jason went home, albeit in a surprising fashion.

The shocking and, really, only interesting part from the episode was how Jason was sent home before the fantasy suite.

I’ll admit, I didn’t see that coming.

If my memory is correct, I believe Jason got the first rose last week. I felt pretty good coming into Monday night; I at least thought he’d make it to the rose ceremony.

But you could see from the very beginning of his date that he just didn’t have as strong a chemistry with Becca as Garrett and Blake did. At the end of the day, that was the difference.

BRIGID: Absolutely. Now, I thought after last week, Jason could pull an upset, but from the beginning of the date, it was more than obvious that Becca just wasn’t in love with Jason, like she is with the other two.

I feel for Jason. He seems like a great, normal guy. And he was so confident in his feelings, but they just weren’t reciprocated. I think Becca made the right choice, ending it before the fantasy suite.

DJ: Between Blake and Garrett, I like Blake much more, and for obvious reasons, but Blake is starting to be a little much for me.

He’s way too emotional.

I swear, every week I hear, “She has to know how I feel. She has to.”

Blake, my God, man. Get it together! You’re ruining your shot at being The Bachelor. Maybe an emotional bachelor is what people want because it’ll make things interesting, for sure, but at the same time, it felt like a little much.

During various stages of this season, we’ve been #ClayForBachelor, #BlakeForBachelor, #DanForBachelor, #LeoForBachelor and #JasonForBachelor. What team are you on, Brigid?

I’m still Team Clay, but there’s a chance he might be a little busy this fall.

BRIGID: I think I am team #PeterForBachelor. I think Blake is just getting too in his head. I like Blake, too, but he needs to just enjoy his time with Becca and stop bringing up the other men.

At the end of the day, I think that’s what is going to cost him the win.

But, honestly, I think we should go back to Peter. I love Leo, but I don’t think he’s popular enough for his own season. Peter, however, has taken some time to cool off since Rachel’s season, and would make quite the redemption Bachelor after Arie’s disastrous season.

DJ: Real quick, did you notice how on Blake’s date that they couldn’t kiss or touch after a certain spot on the mountain, but they continued to touch anyway? It was a very interesting date, better than Jason’s for sure, which was just wandering around Thailand.

BRIGID: I loved Jason’s date! Exploring a foreign city is always so exciting, and it’s in those normal moments that you can tell if you’ve found a partner. After the cameras stop rolling, the dates are going to be much more like Jason’s than Blake’s or Garrett’s.

But, I thought they did a pretty good job not touching by holding hands and stuff, but should have stayed a little more separated.

DJ: So next week’s the Men Tell All. What are you looking forward to most now that the cast is back together again?

For me, it has to be an update on Venmo John’s latest app, right? And I’m intrigued to see whether or not Lincoln is involved altogether.

BRIGID: I’m looking forward to hearing from Chris, and figuring out if he just got too caught up in the show, or if he’s destined to stay a villain.
