OPENING EXHIBITS
Tape Art, the Sordoni Art Gallery at Wilkes University welcomes the Rhode Island team of artists known as the Tape Art Crew from July 17 through 20. The team will create a temporary mural on the facade of the art gallery building, 141 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, entirely out of tape during their micro-residency on campus. A mural celebration will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. July 20 during Wilkes-Barre Third Friday Art Block. The public is invited to join the artists in a celebratory tear-down at 7:30 p.m. July 20.
ONGOING EXHIBITS
Sunscreen’s for Sissies, a frank and humorous collection of photographs by native New Yorker Steve Pezant that exemplify a love affair with the sun. The exhibit continues 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays through July 17 at CameraWork Gallery in the lower level of Marquis Art and Frame at 515 Center Street, Scranton. Info, 570-344-3313.
The Animals We Love, an exhibit of drawing and paintings by Diane Grant Czajkowski will be on display through Aug. 8 at Something Special Gallery, 23 Walnut St., Kingston. Opening reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. July 7. Diane works from photographs and portrays animals in her work because of her love for pets and her deep respect for nature. 570-288-8386

Three to See, Local artists John Clark, Gale Figlerski and Shirley Trievel explore a variety of subjects from the human condition to the ephemeral in for different mediums: watercolor, pastel, photography and mixed media. Sandra Dyczewski Maffei Gallery at The Circle Centre For The Arts, Rear 130 S. Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre. The show runs through Aug. 8.
America’s Road: The Journey of Route 66, features photographs, narratives, music and objects from Route 66’s heyday, and offers a geographical and historical tour down one of the world’s most iconic highways. Friedman Art Gallery at Misericordia University, 301 Lake St., Dallas Township. The exhibit runs through Aug. 12. Info: misericordia.edu/art.
The Roads Taken, a selection of paintings by Helen Evanchick will be displayed through July 13 at Geisinger Community Place, 2266 Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace, Wilkes-Barre. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Ramblings of a Lost Ghost, photographs and a variety of digitally manipulated images by Old Forge native Theodore Scazafabo will be exhibited through July 27 at King’s College’s Widmann Gallery, located in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center, between North Franklin and North Main street in Wilkes-Barre.
