Mohegan Sun Arena, Grotto Pizza partner to ‘lay the Smackdown on hunger’
The SMG-managed Mohegan Sun Arena, 255 Highland Park Blvd., Wilkes-Barre Township, announced today that it has partnered with Grotto Pizza in support of the United Way Wyoming Valley’s Christmas in July Food Drive.
According to a press release from the venue, the establishments have teamed up to “lay the Smackdown on hunger.”
From July 1 through 8, patrons who donate a non-perishable food item in support of the food drive at Grotto Pizza locations in the Wyoming Valley Mall, Edwardsville or Harveys Lake will be entered to win four luxury suite tickets to see WWE Smackdown Live at 7:45 p.m. July 17 at the arena. Winners will also receive a $25 gift card to Grotto Pizza.
Donations will also be accepted at the NBT Bank Box Office at Mohegan Sun Arena from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 2 through 6. The box office will be closed July 4. One random winner will be selected at each donation site and notified on July 9.
Donations support the Commission on Economic Opportunity Weinberg Northeast Pennsylvania Regional Food Bank, which distributes the products to charitable organizations, feeding the needy throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Acceptable donations include cereal, peanut butter and jelly, canned tuna, canned and dry pasta, rice, canned meats of any type, canned stews, canned vegetables, canned fruit, soups of any type, diapers, laundry detergent and personal care items (soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.).
