OPENING EXHIBITS

America’s Road: The Journey of Route 66, features photographs, narratives, music and objects from Route 66’s heyday, and offers a geographical and historical tour down one of the world’s most iconic highways. Opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. June 16 at Friedman Art Gallery at Misericordia University, 301 Lake St., Dallas Township. The reception is free and open to the public, and the exhibit runs through Aug. 12. Info: misericordia.edu/art.

Flowers on Main, featuring floral designs by Susan French, floral designs and mini paintings by Beverly Jean Johnston, terrariums and botanicals by Janet Stavish and recent works by Mary Lou Steinberg. Opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. June 15; exhibit opens from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 16. Two days only.

ONGOING EXHIBITS

Solid Gone, an exhibit of cast iron works by 43 artists and curated by Ben Woodeson. Sordoni Art Gallery, 141 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Exhibit runs through July 1.

Dreams, an exhibit of abstracts and semi-realistic landscapes by Vyacheslav Shevchenko, is open through June 30 at Mainstreet Galleries, 370 Pierce St., Kingston.

2018 LCCC Student Art Exhibit, will be on display through June 14 at Luzerne County Community College’s Schulman Gallery. The LCCC campus is located at 1333 S. Prospect St., Nanticoke, and the Schulman Gallery is located on the second floor of the Campus Center. Exhibit highlights students in the communication arts department, showing a variety of accomplished work in multiple mediums. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and evenings and weekends by appointment only.

Ramblings of a Lost Ghost, photographs and a variety of digitally manipulated images by Old Forge native Theodore Scazafabo will be exhibited through July 27 at King’s College’s Widmann Gallery, located in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center, between North Franklin and North Main street in Wilkes-Barre. Scazafabo will discuss his work from 6 to 8 p.m. June 15. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Info: 570-208-5900, ext. 5328
