The Prenuptial Project: Time to stop and smell the roses

Fifty-one days to go!

A lot of the past month has been spent stressing about my entire life. And right now, my wedding is my entire life.

But, there is light at the end of the tunnel. We have some things to be excited about, and to look forward to.

My bridal shower is finally upon us. It’s weird to think about, if I’m being honest. For so long, these events seemed like distant hypotheticals that would never get here.

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve talked about the stoppage of time and how I blinked and my engagement was practically coming to an end.

I’ll be a married woman soon enough.

The past year and a half is all a distant memory, and now I’m in crunch time for getting everything taken care of.

And I tend to get into my own head about things too much, which you all know. I live a completely different life in my mind, and I tend to get caught up in it. This week, however, I am trying to stop and smell the roses. I want to be able to take in my friends and family coming together and seeing all my wonderful bridesmaids for the first time in too long.

For as much as I write about my trials and tribulations as a bride-to-be, I just as easily get caught up in my life outside my wedding: work, exercising, trying to make time for hobbies.

It’s been a stressful month, to say the least, but it’s all leading up to this weekend.

I’m in a local production of “Little Shop of Horrors” that opens on Friday.

My bridal shower is Saturday morning.

I’m doing my first half marathon on Sunday.

All of this time spent stressing on things that are now here, and whether I’m emotionally ready or not, are happening within the next few days.

I would be remiss if I didn’t take the time to thank my bridesmaids, my mother and my future mother-in-law for everything they’ve done for me to get this shower ready, and all they do for me every day. I’ve said it once, and I will say it again, I am so lucky to have so many people in my life who go above and beyond the call of duty for me.

I can’t wait to share this weekend with them. I can’t wait to share the next month with them.

Through all the stress I have, and juggling my entire life around this wedding, I’m just so excited to have this group at my side.

And, of course, Mikey too. Where would I possibly be without him in all of this?
