Poco to reunite with co-founder Jim Messina Feb. 22 at F.M. Kirby Center

The F.M. Kirby Center has announced that classic-era West Coast country-rock outfit Poco will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at the downtown Wilkes-Barre theater, 71 Public Square.

The performance will act as a reunion for the band, still led by co-founder and frontman Rusty Young, with co-founder Jim Messina.

According to a press release from the venue, “For more than 50 years, Poco’s distinctive harmonies and stellar musicianship helped define the sound of country-rock.”

Young, the statement said, “wrote and sang their biggest hits” and “Poco remains a dedicated unit of four formidable songwriters, vocalists, arrangers and players.”

Messina, throughout his successful 50-year career, has been a key contributor to Buffalo Springfield, Poco and Loggins & Messina.

Poco is known for such timeless hits as “Crazy Love,” “Call It Love,” Heart of the Night” and more.

Tickets range from $29.50 to $49.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through the Kirby Center box office, online at kirbycenter.org and by phone at 570-826-1100. A pre-sale for Kirby members begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday through the same outlets.
