Earth, Wind and Fire tribute act Shining Star to perform in Wilkes-Barre

Earth, Wind and Fire tribute outfit Shining Star will perform at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre in September.

WILKES-BARRE — Shining Star, a tribute to Earth, Wind and Fire will perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 23 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square.

The outfit chooses from a library of Grammy-winning gold and multi-platinum records and performs Earth, Wind and Fire’s celebrated hits.

According to a press release from the Kirby Center, “Shining Star is the closest thing to the real thing. Each member of the band has studied his respective roll extensively. The soulful lead vocals of Maurice White and the sultry tenor of Philip Bailey are highlighted throughout every song … .”

Tickets range from $29.50 to $49.50 and are on sale now through the Kirby Center box office, online at kirbycenter.org and by phone at 570-826-1100.
