Indie-folk artist Conor Oberst to appear at Wilkes-Barre’s F.M. Kirby Center
WILKES-BARRE — Singer-songwriter Conor Oberst will lead a full-band performance at 8 p.m. July 27 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square. His act will feature members of The Felice Brothers. Philadelphia-based alternative folk band Hop Along will serve as the opening act.
Oberst is currently touring on his 2016 stripped-down solo release, “Ruminations,” as well as the record’s 2017 follow-up, “Salutations,” comprising full-band versions of the ten songs from the former with seven additional tracks.
Oberst has been playing in bands since he was 13, and began releasing music in 1993. The American musician is best known for his indie-rock band Bright Eyes, as a member of the heavier band Desaparecidos, as a solo singer-songwriter, and leader of Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band. He is also part of the Monsters of Folk super group.
