They say it takes a village, and planning a wedding is no different.

I have talked a lot about the journey Mikey and I are on and how we navigate this new territory of balancing full time jobs, opposing schedules and trying to find time to solidify our wedding plans.

It’s a lot.

But, there is an entire other group that has started this journey with me that I haven’t even begun to talk about.

I am, of course, talking about my bridesmaids. I consider myself beyond lucky to have a group of women by my side, not only for all the little moments in my life, but also to go on this fantastic (and sometimes stressful) adventure with me.

I have been blessed with a wise older sister, Katlin, (who, unlike me is an “uber planner,” in her own words) who has taken on the role of maid of honor without any hesitation. To be fair, she really didn’t have much of a choice, but she still seems enthusiastic about the whole thing.

In fact, all my bridesmaids have been nothing but eager in the whole planning-and-eventual-execution concept to make this wedding go off without a hitch. Each girl brings her own flair and creativity to this process and helps me stay focused and calm throughout it.

From centerpieces to making sure everyone is going to dance and have a good time, these women have it covered.

If I’m being honest, I don’t think I would be able to pull any of this off without them.

And it helps bring a lot of fun to planning.

Last week, some of my bridesmaids and I got together to talk and go over a few things. Finally getting (almost) everyone in one room brought a new sense of energy to the planning process, and allowed us to focus on some of the more fun aspects of planning, like showers and bachelorette parties. Everyone has been so supportive with all my crazy ideas and plans for the next year, and I truly couldn’t thank them enough for this.

So, I’ll just say it now.

Thank you Katlin, Autumn, Genevieve, Madison, Steph, Violetta and Kristen; I truly couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming along for the ride.
