WILKES-BARRE — Downtown Wilkes-Barre’s F.M. Kirby Center has been ranked No. 99 out of 100 theaters worldwide for 2016 ticket sales by concert industry publication Pollstar in their Mid-Year 2016 Special Edition.

“We’re really thankful and we worked with this goal in mind and this is wonderful,” Kirby Center Director of Marketing Anne Rodella said. “Obviously you don’t get in a publication like this if you don’t have an audience that supports you and corporations that put us in the public eye and make it financially possible for us to bring in these shows. We’re grateful and we don’t take that for granted.”

The list takes into account ticket sales reported to the publication between Jan. 1 and June 30 of this year. Other Pennsylvania venues on the list include Hershey Theatre in Hershey at No. 82, Keswick Theatre in Glenside at No. 73 and Academy of Music in Philadelphia at No. 42. The No. 1 theater on the list is Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City; Fox Theater Pomona in Pomona, California rounded out the list at No. 100.

F.M. Kirby Center’s summer film series is currently underway as part of their 2016-17 season.
