WILKES-BARRE — Jamie Tworkowski, founder of the non-profit organization To Write Love On Her Arms, will speak at 7 p.m. Monday, April 18 at Wilkes-Barre’s F.M. Kirby Center.

To Write Love On Her Arms was founded by Tworkowski in 2006 after he included the line in a MySpace post about a teenage friend battling addiction and depression. Tworkowski began selling t-shirts to raise money for his friend’s treatment, and the group began to field messages from other teens facing similar issues soon after. To Write Love On Her Arms’ story was adapted into a feature film in 2015 by Sony Pictures.

Tickets to the event are free and can be obtained at the Kirby Center box office starting Monday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. There is a four ticket limit per person. For more information, call (570) 826-1100.
