DALLAS TWP. — More than 40 different kinds of beers will be available for tasting at the first-ever Back Mountain BrewFest on Saturday, Oct. 15.

The event will tap into the region’s love of suds while benefiting the Back Mountain Fire & EMS, said Brenda Pugh, a member of the Dallas Area Fall Fair Committee.

“We want to invite people out to support the local fire department for the service they provide every day,” Pugh said.

The Back Mountain Fire & EMS teamed up with the Dallas Area Fall Fair Committee to organize the Back Mountain BrewFest, which will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Luzerne County Fair Grounds off Route 118 in Dallas Township.

General admission to the event is $35 in advance or $45 at the gate. Tickets are available through members of the Back Mountain Fire & EMS or from the Dallas Area Fall Fair Committee, Pugh said.

A limited number of VIP tickets will be available. VIP tickets will enable guests to enter the gates an hour earlier, receive a free beer glass supplied by Sabatini’s Pizza and a selection of specialty beers, Pugh said. VIP tickets cost $50 and can only be purchased online at eventbrite.com.

The event will feature a variety of brews “from the little guys to the big guys,” she said.

“The Lion Brewery is our biggest sponsor,” Pugh said.

She said suds will be provided by Lancaster Brewery, Susquehanna Brewing Company, Benny Brewery, Nimble Hill Brewery and Victory Brewery, to name a few.

Food vendors will be available for attendees, Pugh said. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Tommy Guns Band and Stealing Neil.
