MINIONS — The animated comedy-adventure about the yellow, single-celled organisms (Kevin, Stuart and Bob) seeking a master to serve — and discovering the world’s first supervillainess Scarlet Overkill. PG; 1:30

THE GALLOWS — Cassidy Gifford and Ryan Shoos star in this horror film about students in a small town restaging the play during which a horrific accident occurred 20 years ago — and finding they should have left well enough alone. R; 1:20

SELF/LESS — Billionaire industrialist Damian Hale (Ben Kingsley), stricken with cancer, undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness into the body of a healthy man. But as he starts his new life as Edward (Ryan Reynolds), he is plagued by disturbing images. PG-13; 1:55

MAX — After a U.S. Marine is killed in Afghanistan, his highly trained service dog Max, suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, is adopted by the marine’s family.
