What is your favorite Weekender feature ? MOTW and the Life section

What accomplishment to date are you most proud of? Any is an accomplishment really. I make everything count, even the small things.

What is your life motto? “You can do this.” I tell that to myself daily.

What would your theme song be? “Orchid” by Alanis Morissette

What do you do for fun? I paint! A lot! I also roller skate; I love it. Go to car shows and flea markets as well and when I can, run away to the beach for a day.

If you could give your younger self any advice what would it be? Don’t get caught up in the past. And learn to love yourself where you are in life at any given moment.

If you could master one skill you don’t have right now what would it be? Artistically, painting cars and digital media. Any other skills that would be able to speak to people easily.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? That I was not so much of a perfectionist.

What motivates you to succeed? Being able to overcome my struggles, and showing people through my paintings they are not alone.

What’s the craziest thing you have ever done? It is so crazy it is going to my grave!

What is an ideal weekend for you? Depends on my mood.

How would you describe yourself in five words or less? Independent, eclectic, thinker, creative, deep

Whats your biggest pet peeve? Social media.

What would constitute a “perfect” day for you? Going to a flea market or vintage store, coming home to sketch or paint and going for a walk barefoot around the pond with my dog at dusk.

What sounds do you love? My beagle when she is dreaming; she yips.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose? Diana Prince

Do you collect anything? A lot. Anything 1940-1970s vintage. My newest is vintage hand mirrors. I am covering a wall.

What’s your fondest childhood memory? My sister, my dad and me sitting in log loaders on log trucks watching the fireworks on the 4th of July when I was a kid.

If you could change something in the world, what would it be? Labels. Even people who say they “hate labels” give themselves labels and put themselves in boxes.

What music has most influenced you? I listened to a lot of Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves as a kid, so I have to say they kicked it off, but alternative ’90s rock really is where I find a lot of influence as well.

What are your top five personal values? Loyalty, sincerity, honesty, hard work, drive

What’s your philosophy in life? I have learned, everything you put out comes back to you. So make sure you are putting out the good stuff.

What was the best phase in your life? Right now. Six months ago I would not have said that, but I have grown so much that I am happy with myself.

What’s the one thing that people always misunderstand about you? “I am not a very social person. I like to hang out by myself and sometimes that comes across as me not liking a person. I just like a lot of alone time to create and silence.”

What are your thoughts on online dating or tinder? “Garbage. I joined Plenty of Fish once, and all it was was comic relief. I cant take that seriously.”
