Everybody with an Instagram filter thinks they’re a model. #SorryNotSorry — they’re not. They might be beautiful. They might be built. But if their pic is taken with an iPhone 6s, their model-status is BS.

Weekender keeps the real model game going strong each and every week with the Man and Model of the Week feature. Every issue displays one guy and girl striking a pose for our readers (and probably a new Facebook profile pic). Anyone who grabs a copy gets to know one more person in NEPA just a little bit better.

On Friday, Oct. 23, every man and model from the past year will be brought together for the party of the year: The 2015 Man and Model of the Year Party. More than 100 man and model participants will be invited to compete for a crown, just like the Burger King mascot’s, only better.

This year, there’s a freaky twist to the annual affair: The party is a Halloween Bash — and dressing up in costume is highly encouraged.

The party kicks off at 7 p.m. inside The Woodlands in Plains Twp. Party-goers must be 18 years old to attend. A cash bar will be available for anyone 21 or older with valid identification.

A panel of judges will help determine the winner in the following categories: Costume, charisma, and a question round with the final six competitors. Acting as judges will be Jasmine Brooks, WBRE-TV news anchor; Angie Morgan, owner of Sapphire Salon & Spa; Brandon Rice, celebrity hair stylist at Style Tee Salon in Wilkes-Barre; Gerard Durling, owner of Coal Creative; Lauren Maga, kick-ass bartender from R Bar & Grill; Deborah Desiderio, owner of Barbizon Acting & Modeling School in Wilkes-Barre, and Weekender’s own “Girl Talk” columnist, Melissa Hughes.

Of course, we want our readers to help select the winners, too. Voting has already started online. Don’t forget to cast your vote at theWeekender.com, because online voting ends at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21.

If you weren’t Man or Model of the Week last year, what’s in it for you? Prizes, duh! Everyone in attendance is eligible to win prizes, including tickets to see Kevin Hart perform on Dec. 30 at Mohegan Sun Arena, for costume categories, including sexiest, funniest, scariest, most original, DJ pick, editor’s pick, Sorry Mom & Dad pick, male overall, and female overall.

So save the date, pick out an epic costume, and chug some Asian pear juice to prevent being hungover the next day, because we want to party with you!
