    Gypsy, the timeless story of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous Burlesque Striptease artist, based loosely on her memoirs. At the Pheonix Performing Arts Centre, 409 Main St., Duryea.     Shawnee Original Playwright Performances, featuring 19 out of 50 submitted works to be read to a panel of judges before being voted on by the audience. 7 p.m. August 9 and 10.

    Annie Jr., a children’s performance of the famous story following the adventures of everybody’s favorite redheaded orphan, presented by the Shawnee Playhouse, 552 River Rd., Shawnee on Delaware.
