Pet peeve #2: Bars that don’t adhere to crowd ordinances

Tiffany Stine  by Tiffany Stine
I’ve been to many bars in my time, and I fully understand man’s need to make a buck. However, when it conflicts with my safety, that’s where I draw the line.

I found March to be specifically tacking on this pet peeve. As I already mentioned in my last peeve, the crowd inevitably was the reason my beer can was brushed with an over-produced hair flip. But what I failed to mention about this specific event was that it was so packed and crowded that the heat from the person’s body next to you could be felt on your own body. I felt it through my jeans, and trust me, there is nothing more disgusting than feeling the body heat of someone you don’t know through your own article of clothing. You may have had this feeling if you were out at any Irish bar on parade day weekend. Which leads to my next point about this peeve. Why does it seem that all the cool bars and quite honestly “the places to be” on “special holidays” are the ones that have the most inadequate bathroom facilities? Does it really cost that much to have a toilet that flushes or (for crying out loud) doors on bathroom stalls? I mean really, I know of at least one person in my high school career that made a picnic table in shop class, can’t these bars solicit help from high school shop classes to have doors made for them? It is a very low cost way to keep their patrons happy if you ask me.
