Hometown: Originally Davis, Calif., now lives in Forty Fort.
Occupation: Features Designer for The Times Leader.
Describe your look: My style is funky. Some days I like more classic things, other days more bohemian, but I love color and patterns. It’s very eclectic. I don’t really follow any certain set of rules. Style is another creative outlet for me, so I try to have fun with it and let it speak for my personality.
Favorite place to shop: I love Anthropologie for the unique pieces and Target to fill in the wardrobe holes.
Age when you first got into fashion: I started reading InStyle in junior high. I don’t think I started to explore my own style until I graduated college though. Something about getting into the working world and gaining more confidence enabled me to take more risks with what I wore.
Fashion pet peeve: When women wear heels that are clearly uncomfortable. You see them walking down the street and they look wounded. It takes the whole point out of wearing heels and it’s just not worth it to be that uncomfortable.
Clothing item you have the most of: Funky jackets. It’s cold for so long here that it’s nice to have different options.
Favorite article of clothing: A pair of Miz Mooz boots. They are super comfortable. I wear them constantly.
If you could shop anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Los Angeles. I love L.A.’s style. It’s funky and colorful. There are so many great vintage shops there. L.A. has every store you could ever want. Shopping in Italy is pretty amazing, too. I got my arm warmers there about four years ago, and I wear them constantly. Italians are just born with style.
New trends you favor: Interesting necklines in sweaters, dresses, shirts. I look for that anyway, so I’m glad it might be easier to find now. I also really liked when the waist on pants started to get higher. Bending over in jeans is comfortable again.
Favorite designer: I’m not a huge label girl. If I like something, I like it. I don’t really care who made it. I want quality clothes that will last, but I don’t need a big name on it.
Favorite type of accessory: Earrings. I love everything about them and I like them big.
Heels or flats? Both. I do love heels, but sometimes your feet just need a break.
How do you choose the outfit you are going to wear each day? First I check the weather! I don’t want to be impractical or uncomfortable all day. I’ll usually pick one loud item and build an outfit around that. Sometimes I just stare into my closet and picture how things will go together and hope it works out.
Clothing item you’d sell your soul for: Audrey Hepburn’s white strapless ball gown in “Sabrina.”
