Dive right into the Scuba jacket

You don’t have to be certified to try this one on for size. The form-fitting Scuba jacket may look like a mini outerwear choice, but this tiny jacket packs a lot of punch. Sporty by nature yet feminine enough to sample with a dress, the Scuba jacket is best worn as part of your overall ensemble. This means keep the jacket on for as long as you are wearing the outfit. It serves as much a part of it as your shoes or belt would, so give it the wearing duration it deserves.

This is not to say that you can’t simply throw it on when you need mild outdoor protection, but let’s face it, this jacket isn’t exactly designed for great warmth. So if brisk weather is your concern, grab your jacket with the second lining or dig out your wool pea coat for protection. Save the Scuba for the ensemble.

One of the attractive qualities of the Scuba jackets is that they don’t all look alike. Similar in underlying characteristics, the overall look of the jacket differs among brands. Beyond that, several Scuba jackets can be made by the same designer yet all look drastically different.

The Scuba jacket is named for its obvious similarities to actual scuba wear. With a round collar and slick fitted design, the style can be compared to the oceanic attire worn to protect scuba divers as well as keep them agile in the water. Although the fashion accessory and the ocean attire look similar, both can obviously not be worn under the same environmental conditions. Sure, your scuba wetsuit could make it through adverse weather, but how will it look with galoshes?

Nordstrom has an amazing variety of Scuba jackets which vary in color and design. There are ones that are more rugged, and also ones that give off a softer look. A softer look can be achieved by choosing a Scuba jacket that either has softer leather or has minimal zippers and buttons. It all depends upon the taste of the consumer, but isn’t it great that you have so many choices within one type of style?

Scuba jackets will not go out of style, so be a fashionista and buy one in every color. Plan your outfit around your Scuba jacket — it’s that important. Match it with a dress, skinny jeans, a fitted romper, but just don’t try wearing it with anything that is too flowing or breezy. This will result in a ’90s fashion look. Nobody wants that. Nobody.

Slip the Scuba jacket onto your Christmas list. Santa’s no dummy — he knows this one is a must-have.
