Michael and Mary Lou Fereck, Duryea, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Mercedes, to Jason Carrasco, son of Stevan and Mary Carrasco, Westwood, Mass.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Isabel and Bartley Kaminski; Elizabeth Fereck, Pittston; and the late Albert Fereck.
Mercedes is a 2000 graduate of Pittston Area High School and a 2004 graduate of Syracuse University SI Newhouse School of Communications. She is employed as a director of accounts for Schwartz Communication Agency, outside of Boston.
The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School, Westwood, Mass., and a 2003 graduate of Syracuse University SI Newhouse School of Communications. Jason is employed as a director of on-line media at Gupta Media, specializing in the entertainment industry.
A spring wedding is planned at St. Paul Parish, Cambridge, Mass.
The couple will reside in Boston after the marriage.
