John Popko, a.k.a. Johnny Weekender, began working at the Weekender as a marketing intern during the summer of 2004. In September of 2005, shortly after graduating from King's College with a B.S. in marketing and a minor in business administration, he was offered a full-time marketing/sales associate position. He held that position for almost two years and 2007, was then promoted to a sales account executive position in where he served a large portion of Luzerne County and even extending into Columbia county. After serving as a sales account executive and eventually senior account executive over the course of 5 years, he achieved his ultimate goal at the Weekender. In June of 2012 he was named Weekender general manager, a goal he had set out for himself as in intern. No stranger to a good time, John can also be seen out attending various Weekender events and promotions as well as showing support for local businesses. He strongly encourages people to get out, get involved, support your community and simply have a good time.

Rich Howells graduated from Marywood University with a B.A. in English in 2007. He started in journalism at The Abington Journal as a freelancer and was eventually hired as the staff writer for Go Lackawanna, where he served for over two years and earned three Keystone Press Awards and two Weekender Readers’ Choice Awards in that time. He joined The Weekender as a staff writer in August of 2012 and was promoted to editor two months later. When he’s not attending concerts or comic book conventions, Rich continues to write and blog for pleasure, perform at poetry readings, and shoot photos seemingly everywhere he goes.

Graphic Designer Amanda L. S. Dittmar graduated from Marywood University in 2010 with a B.F.A. in Design. She started at the Weekender in 2009 as an intern. In June of 2012 she was hired as the Weekender's Graphic Designer. She can usually be seen at Weekender events with a camera attached to her hand. When not at the weekender Amanda likes to spend her time shooting fashion photography.

Sara Pokorny is a hometown girl, having graduated Wyoming Area in 2004 and King's College in 2008 with a B.A. in Mass Communications. She was a part of the Times Leader’s Features and News departments for two years before making the switch to The Weekender. She loves all things fashion, food, and geek culture, and is always looking for new and interesting things to cover.

Production Editor Mike Golubiewski has been at the Weekender since the very first issue back in 1993. He is a graduate of King’s College with a BA in English and Spanish and can usually be seen at all Weekender Nights Out and events. In his other life, he has also taught Spanish at Luzerne County Community College and the Greater Nanticoke Area School District.
