As I was watching TV over the weekend, I kept seeing something that I really need to get off my chest.
First, let me make something clear: I am a girl, as you know. This of course means that I require things girls need that I don’t need to mention here.
Having said that, do we HONESTLY, as a society, need to be subjected to commercials for erectile dysfunction, birth control, prostate problems, STDs, tampons or maxi pads?
No, we do not.
And it’s not just seeing one commercial here and there, it’s seeing them numerous times over the course of one single program.
I’m a big fan of privacy. If I feel like sharing something with you, it means I trust you enough and you are close enough to me to know private things. If you are not included in that tiny group of trusted folk, then chances are you will never hear me say that I have cramps or I need a female product or I’ve
been up all night “going.”
We have become such a society where it’s OK to lay everything out on the line, but I really don’t think it’s OK. I’m assuming most of us were not raised in a house without doors.
Yes, many people need these products and should know about these products. More power to them if they find something that makes them feel better, but that’s what you pay your doctor for. Let him tell you all about them in the comfort and privacy of his office.
Like with Vegas, what happens in the bedroom, bathroom or your lower extremities needs to stay there.
And Bob, seriously, you need to stop smiling so much. It’s not because we’re jealous that you’ve been able to make your wife happy at last — you and that smile are just really creepy.
