2013 winner Derek Hough and dance pro Emma Slater will be on-hand Jan. 19 for a special Reality Check event for the hotel’s grand opening weekend.

There will be a live performance and Q&A session at 3 p.m. in the Seasons Ballroom and a public signing event at 4 p.m. on the Sky Bridge. Hough is a five-time “Dancing with the Stars” champion, and Slater is the show’s newest dance pro, having made her series debut this past fall.

The first 350 people to visit the Player’s Club booth across from Ruth’s Chris Steak House Jan. 2 at 5 p.m. will receive a ticket to the exclusive performance and Q&A. Due to time restrictions, signing personalization or photos taken with personal cameras are prohibited. Headshots will be given out at the event. The event is bracelet-only. A limited number of bracelets will be distributed starting at noon at the signing area on the Sky Bridge. Participants must have a bracelet in order to gain entry into the signing line.

…will a former Saturday Night Live cast member bring the laughs on Feb. 8 at 8 p.m.?

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will host an Evening of Impressions and Stand-Up with Darrell Hammond in the Keystone Grand Ballroom in the Convention Center.

Hammond is best known for bringing to life his famous impressions of Bill Clinton and Sean Connery as well as scores of other politicians, actors, media personalities, and newsmakers during his time on SNL.

Tickets for An Evening with Darrell Hammond are $30 and on sale now through Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com. Call Ticketmaster’s national toll-free Charge By Phone number at 1.800.745.3000 or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets are also available at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs Box Office.

…will you be able to catch the postponed Joe Nardone’s Doo Wop Christmas show at the F.M. Kirby Center?

Thanks to Mother Nature, the Dec. 14 show had to be pushed back to March 2 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the Dec. 14 affair will be honored on the 2nd, and anyone who cannot attend the rescheduled performance is eligible for a full refund at the point of purchase.

In other Kirby news, blues vocalist Alexis P. Suter and her full band have been added as special guests for the Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue show on Jan. 17 at 8 p.m.

A true vocal phenomenon, Suter and crew began wowing audiences as regular performers at Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble Sessions in Woodstock, N.Y. When the legendary B.B. King first heard Suter sing, he was visibly impressed and said so after she opened for him in New York City: “It’s a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady.”

As special guests for The Levon Helm Band, Suter also played to sold-out audiences at the Beacon Theater, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, N.J., and Central Park’s Summerstage.

Tickets for the show are on sale now and are priced at $29, $39, and $49.
