So much to do in so little time? You’re at work until 5 p.m. and your reservation with the girls is at six, and there is little-to-no time to stop home and freshen up your look from office to office party! Here are a few ideas to help the girl on the go amp it up easy.
Always carry mascara; a few extra coats will help give you plump luscious lashes and help give a smoky effect to the eye along the lash line.
If your eyeliner is already smudging and wearing away from the day, take your ring finger and smudge it out a little more to add a little sultry to your not-so-sexy running liner. Take any leftover liner that may have gotten on the tip of your ring finger and dab it into your outer corner of your eye to deepen up your look a little more. This liner-as-shadow technique will last long into the night and stay better than traditional eye shadow. If you happen to have an eyeliner with you, darken up your look by adding liner to your upper and lower lash lines to turn it from day to night.
Only have mascara with you? Use your long wear mascara as a liner by applying a little to your lash line and smudging it out slightly.
Lip and cheek duos are a necessity for the multi-tasker; this will save you time and space and energy, keeping the guess work out of which combination to use for cheeks and lips. Using your ring finger once more, dip into the cream and smooth across lips, then buff the excess onto your cheek. It’s a simple way to keep you with a natural monochromatic nude lip look to go with your amped-up eye.
Don’t own a lip and cheek duo? Do the same thing with that tube of lipstick lying in the bottom of your purse.
If you don’t carry a roll-on of your favorite fragrance and you need a refresher of fragrance, swing by the reception area and pick up a magazine. That’s right – snatch that perfume ad and swipe it all over. Besides, there’s usually a new fragrance in there you’ve been waiting to try.
If your hair has become flat and lifeless, try bringing along a dry shampoo or refresher spray. If you don’t have either, head into the bathroom and put your head upside down under the hand dryer for a minute to add a little extra volume to your locks. Make sure to comb through your hair after with your fingers or a brush so you don’t look like a crazy lady.
Tip: Add a little extra dewy glow to your cheeks by placing a small amount of sheer lip gloss to the upper portion of your cheekbones where a highlight would typically go. This will help create a hydrated light, catching radiance perfect for the night life.
Trick: Keep your hair pulled back in a tight twisted bun or braid, then let it loose when the work day ends to reveal tousled and textured sexy locks.
