This 1976 Toyota Celica GT is owned by Andrew Solanek of Sunbury, Pa.

“This is definitely an old school Japanese car,” Solanek said, “one of the first wave that transformed the way we think of Japanese cars, and cars in general. I get a lot of looks when I have it at car cruises and shows. Not too many people remember these; they weren’t all that big in our area until later than the ‘70s.

“It’s not all that powerful of a car – gets about 120 horsepower. It has a 5-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. … I restored the exterior, got a new paint job done, and did some restoration on the interior and the engine. I love it because it shows how far Toyota has come, with all the different styles and body types they have now.”
