As if there weren’t already enough reasons in this world to booze it up, here we have Valentine’s Day. It’s a time that, if you’re attached, you want to do something romantic and, if you aren’t, indulging in more martinis than usual might be the way to go.

Not matter what, there are plenty of delicious libations out there (both booze-fueled and not) to liven up this holiday of reds and pinks.

• 1 1.75-liter bottle of vodka

• 5 8.5-ounce glass flasks or bottles

• 2 7-ounce bags of Conversation Hearts

• 5 empty plastic water bottles

• A liquid measuring cup

• Separate hearts by color. You’ll want 25 to 30 of each. It should be 30 hearts to six ounces of vodka.

• Fill water bottles with 8 ounces of vodka each, drop in the separated Conversation Hearts, and leave to process until dissolved. Every once in a while, give the bottles a good shake.

• After the candies have dissolved, you can strain any excess pieces of candy out if you prefer. If not, leave ‘em in. To strain, use a fine-mesh kitchen strainer and strain the liquid over a 2-cup glass measuring cup.

• Next, use a funnel to pour them into the glass bottles. Chill, and serve.
