Penn State University graduate Michael Lello arrived at the Weekender in 2007, bringing with him eight years of experience as a features writer, sports writer, copy editor, business editor and more at three daily newspapers, including a stint at the Times Leader from 1999 through 2002. He came to the Weekender from LexisNexis Mealey's, where he was an editor of legal publications at the company's King of Prussia, Pa. location near Philadelphia. While at the Times Leader, he went from a copy editing/page design position to the sports department, where he covered the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons and high school sports, including boys basketball. He went on to earn his masters of arts degree in writing studies at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia where he published a thesis focusing on sports media. In addition to sports, writing and listening to music, Mike enjoys playing the drums.
