HANOVER — The Venture Lounge caters to the alternative lifestyle in Northeastern Pennsylvania and they are back in business.

After a two week hiatus, the bar is better than ever, said owner Al Podminick.

“The whole bar is different,” Podminick said. “We painted and cleaned everything. Everything is new and everyone is excited.”

Venture Lounge originally opened in June 2012 and Podminick is now the sole owner of the establishment. Paul Baloga of Mountain Top said the bar is a relaxed atmosphere that is welcoming to all lifestyles.

“We are invested in making this a fun place to come that caters to the alternative/BDSM lifestyle in NEPA,” said bar manager, Laura Nicoletto. “We just wanted it to be a fun place to be.”

The grand opening was Friday, June 12. The high-energy dance/rock band, The Chatter, performed from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The band played songs from artists ranging from LMFAO to ZZ Top to Bon Jovi.

“We have expanded our beer and liquor selection,” Nicoletto said. “It is just a completely different atmosphere. We are really proud of the work that has been put into the bar to make it even better than before.”

The bar has increased the draft selection from three beers to seven. There will be a leather night once a month, DJs will perform Friday through Sunday, and patrons can show off their own vocal skills on Sunday at karaoke.

“We all came together as a family and supported each other,” Michael Rossi also known as DJ XM Mikey, said of the new look of the bar. “It is only going up from here.”
