Bleachers to headline music showcase at F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre
WILKES-BARRE — Bleachers, the popular indie-pop-rock outfit led by Jack Antonoff, will perform during an evening of music that begins at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square.
Bleachers will be joined by special guests Bishop Briggs, Misterwives and Welshly Arms.
Antonoff, also the lead guitarist for Grammy-winning group fun., started Bleachers as a solo project during fun.’s tour in support of its 2012 album “Some Nights.”
Bleachers’ debut single “I Wanna Get Better” was released in the spring of 2014 and followed by the album “Strange Desire” that summer.
“Gone Now,” Bleachers’ latest studio album was released in June, and the single “Don’t Take the Money” reached the top 10 on the alternative song charts, according to a press release from the Kirby Center.
A British alternative artist based in Los Angeles, Bishop Briggs reached No. 2 on Spotify’s global viral 50 and broke the top 10 on rock airplay and alternative song charts.
New York city-basked pop outfit Misterwives toured internationally after the release of its debut album “Our Own House” and has received attention from Interview, Paste and MTV Buzzworthy.
Welshly Arms, a blues-rock ensemble from Cleveland, is generating buzz on the heels of its breakout single “Legendary.”
