SaikouCon. $20 to $30. Cosplayers, voice actors, J-pop musicians and more will gather at Split Rock Resort, 100 Moseywood Road, Lake Harmony, from Aug. 26 through 28 for SaikouCon 2016. Admission to Friday’s noon through 9 p.m. session and Saturday’s 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. session is $30 each day, while Sunday’s 10 a.m. through 7 p.m. session is $20. Wally Lake Fest. Free! Celebrate Lake Wallenpaupack during the annual Wally Lake Fest which runs Aug. 26 through 28 in Hawley. Attractions include dam tours, art galleries, kayak demonstrations, bike rides, an ice cream social, a boat parade and free sailboat rides. Blue Mountain Beer Fest. $35. It’s never too early to get into the Oktoberfest spirit. This weekend, enjoy unlimited samples of beer and bourbon on tap at Blue Mountain Resort’s second beer fest. Jeffrey Gaines with special guest Muriel Anderson. $20. Singer/songwriter Jeffrey Gaines performs with supporting act, Muriel Anderson, starting at 8 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Mauch Chunk Opera House, 14 West Broadway, Jim Thorpe. Gaines broke into the grunge heavy music scene of the early ’90s and became known for passionate live performances and inspired songwriting. He had a commercial hit with his 2001 cover of Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes.” Muriel Anderson is an accomplished guitar and harp-guitar player who performs Aug. 27 in front of a display of visual art by photo-artist and cinematographer Bryan Allen.
