Stock Car Racing Experience. Call for pricing. Have you ever wanted to drive like a pro? This experience at Pocono Raceway will show you what it feels like to drive like you’re racing. Strap into a 600-horsepower NASCAR Sprint Cup style stock car and travel up to 165 miles per hour around the 2 1/2 mile track. Rides run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Reservations are encouraged. Wayne County Fair. $10. It’s fair season. The Wayne County Fair begins Aug. 5 and lasts until Aug. 13. Fair grounds open at 9 a.m., while midway attractions fire up at noon — the $10 ticket price includes most grandstand shows, parking at the 270 Miller Dr., Honesdale event and rides. Festival of Wood. Free! They say there’s a festival for everything, and there is. The 12th Annual Festival of Wood is Saturday, Aug. 6 and Sunday, Aug. 7 at 151 Grey Towers Dr., Milford. The festival begins at 10 a.m. and will feature music, crafts, art activities and children’s programs and of course many things will revolve around wood. For more information, call 570-296-9630.

Homecoming Bazaar. Free! Our Lady of Victory Church, 327 Cherry Lane Rd., Tannersville, will hold a tw0-day bazaar featuring pierogies, halupki, cheesesteaks and funnel cakes, along with a game tent, raffles, bingo and a bake sale.
