Things to do in Wilkes-Barre this weekend
Brewsterhout. $20 – $25. The Osterhout Free Library’s Eighth Annual Brewsterhout Rooftop Party will turn the top floor of the Intermodal Center in downtown Wilkes-Barre into a night life destination from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5. The $20 in advance, $25 at-the-door price includes beer and samples from more than 30 different restaurants. The event is for those 21 and older. Old Charades. $5. Steamtown Music Awards nominee Old Charades is releasing a new record, and at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 they’ll celebrate with a show at The Other Side, 119 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Six other bands will play during the 21 and older event that night, including Those Clever Foxes, 18th & Addison, Worries, Embera, Black Hole Heart, Sheep Morale and Jared Hart. Babble III. Free! Performances and art in visual, spoken word, movement and musical mediums will be on display at a free, all-ages event from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at Arts Youniverse, 47 N. Buck Bowling. $1. If you’ve been wanting to bowl for a while, now is your chance. From noon until 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, make sure you bring your dollar bills to Chacko’s Family Bowling Center. The center will only charge $1 for each game, pair of rental shoes, hot dog, fountain drink and pizza slice bought at its 195 N. Wilkes-Barre Boulevard location.
