TUNKHANNOCK — The Dietrich Theater’s tradition of presenting free classical guitar concerts with master guitarist Jay Steveskey continues this fall with the Spanish Guitar Masterpieces Concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct.4. This special concert, sponsored by John P. Keker in memory of Jessie Reppy Keker, will be a musical journey through Spain. The concert will be followed by a reception with light refreshments.

The concert will feature works from a handful of Spanish conposers and classical guitarists, including Francisco Tarrega (1852-1909), Fernando Sor (1778-1839) and Manuel de Falla (1876-1946).

The Dietrich Theater has had a long association with Jay Steveskey. Steveskey is active as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. He has had extensive private studies with Argentine guitarist and Professor of Classical Guitar Pablo Cohen, and was selected to perform for a master class conducted by Sharon Isbin, chair of the Juilliard School’s Classical Guitar department.

Free tickets for the Spanish Guitar Masterpieces Concert on Sunday, Oct. 4 are available at the ticket booth or can be reserved by calling (570) 996-1500.
