FANTASY REF: It’s that time again

Greetings and welcome back, fantasy football enthusiasts, to another action-packed season. It seems like just yesterday that the Saints were hoisting the Lombardi trophy up after a thrilling victory in this year’s Super Bowl. But now that the 2009 season is over and training camps are in full swing, FantasyFootball.com is the place to be for all of your fantasy needs for 2010.

FantasyFootball.com’s Total Dominance Package is not only everything fantasy owners need for the weeks leading up to the regular season, but the best source for fantasy information throughout the regular season for just $34.95. Think that’s too much? Just look at what we have to offer:

Player profiles and rookie report, 32-team preview, projections and auction-dollar values, Mock drafts and chats, offensive line analysis, IDP strategy articles, Draft Predictor, Draft Planner (customized cheat sheets), Fantasy statistics (points scored/allowed, scoring opportunities, consistency), Strength of Schedule with player comparisons, Draft Trade Assessor. Our In-season products also include the Five Star Report, My Locker, Weekly Projections and Live Advice.

Think you won’t need all of those tools? We also offer our 2010 Draft Guide for just $17.95. But keep in mind that this does not include the Draft Planner, Draft Predictor, Live Advice or any other tools Dominance members will have access to during the regular season. And last but not least, you’ll always have access to our weekly radio podcasts where we cover all the latest fantasy football topics, answer mailbag questions and take your phone calls. I could go on and on about both packages we offer, but there just isn’t enough room in this article to explain everything. You will just have to log onto FantasyFootball.com and check it out for yourself.

Now that I got all that out, let’s relive some of the more important fantasy questions I have been hearing throughout the spring:

Is Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson really going to hold out? As much as I would love to tell owners that Jackson will be suiting up for Week One, it’s looking more and more doubtful by the week. The team isn’t budging, and Jackson has already made financial plans to sit out the first 10 weeks of the season, if not the entire year. If you have Jackson as a keeper and can afford to keep him on your roster, continue to do so. If you have a draft within the next week or two, it’s looking like you will have to bite the bullet and pass on Jackson. The only way he plays every game this year is if the team signs him to a fat contract, which looks doubtful, or the team winds up trading him. But even if that happens, Jackson would have to agree to any deal offered, and that is going to require some big bucks.

How will Terrell Owens signing with the Bengals affect Chad Ochocinco? I wasn’t surprised that TO was signed, but shocked that it took this long for him to sign anywhere after sitting the entire offseason as a free agent. When news came out that Antonio Bryant’s troubled knee was starting to be rumored as “bone-on-bone,” the Cincy brass wasted no time in signing Owens to a one-year, $2 million deal with incentives. As an Ochocinco owner, I think I would be ecstatic about the news. Ocho finally has someone else to take attention away on the other side, even though Owens has lost a step. Ocho gaining another 1,000-yard receiving season shouldn’t be out of reach. As for Owens’ fantasy value; while he isn’t a stud like he was in past years, there is no reason to think he couldn’t reach between 800-900 receiving yards and possibly flirt with seven-eight touchdowns. The touchdown total might be a bit of a reach, but we are sure Carson Palmer will get the ball to him in the end zone as much as possible.

That about wraps it up for my first edition of The Fantasy Ref. Next week, I will be covering some offensive rankings so you can be sure that your rankings are as up-to-date as possible. Who is the No. 1 fantasy quarterback? Is Chris Johnson knocking Adrian Peterson off the No. 1 overall fantasy pick pedestal? All these questions and more will be answered in next week’s Fantasy Ref!

Not only can you find all the information you need at FantasyFootball.com, but this year I am joining Fox Sports Radio — The Game for Fantasy Football Friday, airing every Friday from 5-6 p.m. I will join “The Ace” Josh Klingerman to give you inside information week in and week out while answering e-mails with questions from you the audience. Tune in every Friday starting Aug. 27th on 1280 AM (Berwick/Bloomsburg), 1340 AM (Wilkes-Barre) and 1400 AM (Scranton).
