WINING AND DINING ON THE RIVER
River Grille (670 N. River St., Plains Twp.) will host a Wine Night Out on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. The six-course meal will be paired with four sophisticated wines, and a wine expert will be in attendance to discuss each wine and the pairings.
The first course will be a pear-and-brie salad served with Marquis de la Tour wine. Sangria scallops with Prum Essence Riesling follows, and the third course is a wild mushroom risotto with Sacred Stone Master Blend. The fourth course features homemade lemon sorbet, followed by the fifth course, which is pork saltimbocca with Planeta La Segreta. The final course will feature white chocolate and Chambord cr�me brulee.

A BAR YOU CAN’T REFUSE
Godfathers, a new bar/restaurant in Wilkes-Barre, opened Friday at the former Pal’s Inn (85 Brown St.). Owned by Joe Hodle, Godfathers has an “old Italian gangster” theme and features photos of “The Godfather, “Goodfellas” and “The Sopranos,” as well as Al Capone, Frank Sinatra and more.
The restaurant/bar will be open for lunch and dinner and will eventually feature Italian dishes as daily specials.
