MENU ON THE MOON
Luna (41 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre) has a new menu, as Lorenzo Medico, who owns the bar/nightclub with Patrick Son, told Dish last week. Luna’s chef is Jeffery Bynon.
“We made it a little more conducive to the environment we’re in,” said Medico, who devised the menu with Niccole Trzaska. “The original menu didn’t have fried items on it, and we had a big demand for that, but we do them with a little bit of a twist.”
New items include sweet potato fries with brown sugar honey marmalade, seasoned curly fries with sweet paprika and “spice dust,” chicken popcorn bites with homemade spicy mayo and a Cuban wedge sandwich made with pork or ham, Swiss cheese and a Cuban mojo sauce.
The dessert menu has new features, ones reminiscent of childhood: s’mores, cotton candy and milk and cookies, made with Blue Chip Gourmet — owned by former WB/S Penguin Dennis Bonvie — cookies served warm, topped with cinnamon powdered sugar and served with a glass of milk infused with mint.

LUNCHING AT THE ’TECA
Don’t know why, but sometimes the only thing that can remedy a very late night is a Lunch Special No. 8 from La Tolteca in Wilkes-Barre the next day — especially when the chicken quesadilla and two beef tacos is accompanied by a basket of tortilla chips with the ’Teca’s zippy salsa and secret white ranch-y sauce. Thank you, La Tolteca, for making me feel human again.
DISCOVERING DOMINICK’S
This weekend, I ate at Dominick’s Caf (20 School St., Plains). Not only did I have an awesome Manhattan, but the jumbo fried shrimp with stuffed with crabmeat was to die for.
