HELP AT THE GRILLE
River Grille (670 N. River St., Plains Twp.) will host a benefit for John Naessig Sr. Saturday, Jan. 23 starting at 6 p.m. A percentage of all food and bar sales will be donated to Naessig, who suffers from metastatic melanoma.
Music will be provided by Big Daddy Dex from 6-9 p.m.; Carol and Joe of Mystique (8-10 p.m.); and Handshakes and Headbutts (10 p.m.-2 a.m.). There will also be prizes and giveaways throughout the night.
There is no cover to attend, but donations will be accepted at the door. Checks can be made payable to John Naessig Sr. Cancer Fund c/o Cross Valley Federal Credit Union. FOR FIRST FRIDAY
First Friday Scranton will host a benefit mixer Thursday, Jan. 21 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Dionysus Downtown (224 Penn Ave., Scranton). Admission is a $5 donation, and there will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
PAIRING WITH PIZZA
Cork Bar & Restaurant (463 Madison St., Wilkes-Barre) will have the next installment of its Winter Wine School Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. This class will pair three wines with three different types of pizza. Cost is $15 per person.
