Folk legend Gordon Lightfoot will perform at the F.M. Kirby Center (71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre) on Tuesday, Oct. 5. Lightfoot, who is known for songs like “Sundown,” “Carefree Highway” and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” battled health problems until a recent comeback, which was interrupted by a minor stroke on stage in 2006. In February, he was the victim of a death hoax rumor that started on Twitter.
Tickets ($40, $45, $65), go on sale to the public Friday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster and the box office. Kirby Center members can pre-purchase tickets beginning Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m. For more info, call the venue at 570.826.1100.
