The Summer’s Cool on the Square event will return to Wilkes-Barre’s Public Square on Saturday, Aug. 21. The free end-of-summer event will feature live music by Farmer’s Daughter, Pop Rox, The Blend and Star Fires.
The performances begin at 2 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. City council has temporarily suspended the ban on open consumption of alcoholic beverages (beer and malted beverages, not wine or liquors) from 5-10 p.m. in the area bound by North Street on the north, South Street on the south, Franklin Street on the west and Washington Street on the east. A wrist band and event cup are necessary to participate and may be purchased at participating businesses.
Public Square will reopen to traffic at midnight.
