On the heels of the June release of his third studio album, "Between The Needles & Nightfall," Marco Benevento recently performed a four-song set and sat down for a video interview, both for the Weekender Sessions.
Along with drummer Andrew Borger (Tom Waits, Norah Jones) and bassist Dave Dreiwitz (Ween), the piano-playing Benevento shared the first three songs from the new album as well as an encore of "The Real Morning Party."
Benevento, recently featured on NPR, will play this summer at the Winnipeg Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Toronto Jazz Festival and the High Sierra Music Festival.
Benevento's Session was conducted at the River Street Jazz Cafe, where he was booked to perform a concert later in the evening.
